Choeung Ek Genocidal Center

About this experience

Choeung Ek Genocidal Center is a memorial and educational site on the outskirts of Phnom Penh. Once used as an execution and burial ground during the Khmer Rouge regime, it preserves a Memorial Stupa, former mass-grave sites and exhibitions that honour the victims. Audio guides and displays help visitors understand Cambodia’s modern history and the importance of peace and human rights.
